About ASHRAE

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of the HVAC industry. The Society is organized and operated for the sole purpose of advancing the arts and sciences of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation, the allied arts and sciences and related human factors for the benefit of the general public. To fulfill this role, the Society shall recognize the effect of its technology on the environment and natural resources to protect the welfare of posterity.

Purpose and Goals

  • The continuing education of the members and other interested persons through lectures, demonstrations, and publications. The rendering of career guidance to students of the sciences.

  • The advancement of heating, refrigerating, and air-conditioning engineering and related sciences.
